Minneapolis, get ready! Art-A-Whirl® 2026 is right around the corner, the nation’s largest open studio tour! If you've never experienced the artistic explosion that takes over Northeast Minneapolis for one weekend in May, consider this your official invitation to dive headfirst into a world where creativity knows no bounds.

What is Art-A-Whirl®? 

 Imagine stepping inside the very spaces where artistic magic happens, peering over a painter’s shoulder as they bring a canvas to life, watching a potter shape clay into a masterpiece, or feeling the electric energy of a sculptor welding metal into something astonishing. Art-A-Whirl® is more than an art event; it’s an all-access pass to the creative process. 

For three incredible days, May 15–17, 2026, over 1,600 artists, galleries, and businesses will open their doors across 100+ locations in Northeast Minneapolis. Wander through historic warehouses, bustling galleries, and cozy studios while soaking in a weekend filled with live music, hands-on art activities, and some of the best food and craft beer in town. 

And the best part? It’s completely free.
