Peavey Plaza Reflections - William Drew

There's something undeniably special about a city at night. The way the light dances across buildings, the buzz of activity that takes on a different character after dark - it all creates a unique atmosphere that can be both calming and energizing. 

 In my print, "Peavey Plaza Reflections," I capture this magic in the heart of Minneapolis. The photo features the iconic Peavey Plaza, a downtown park known for its shallow reflecting pool. The park itself has a rich history, dating back to the early 1900s when it was the site of a bustling wholesale produce market. In the 1970s, the area was transformed into a pedestrian plaza, and today it's a popular gathering spot for locals and tourists alike. 

 I was drawn to Peavey Plaza for this photo shoot because of the way the reflecting pool creates a mirrored image of the city. The water's surface is like a canvas, perfectly capturing the bright lights and towering buildings that surround it. The result is a stunning image that is both calming and awe-inspiring. 

 A Timeless Minneapolis Landmark 

 Peavey Plaza is a beloved landmark in Minneapolis, and for good reason. It's a place where people come to relax, socialize, and enjoy the outdoors. The plaza is also home to a number of public art installations, including the famous "Endless Hoop" sculpture by Alexander Calder. 

 When I took this photo, Peavey Plaza had just reopened after being closed for renovations. I was excited to see the park restored to its former glory, and I knew that I had to capture its beauty on camera.
