Ever since I turned 50, I have been spending my birthdays somewhere warm. Growing up in Minneapolis, and having a February birthday usually meant that any plans I had for my birthday were derailed by winter storms and frozen temperatures.
So when my 50th was approaching, I decided to rent a yacht in Punta Gorda, FL. The following year I went to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Disneyland. Last year was going to be a trip to both Walt Disney World and Turks and Caicos. The pandemic made us postpone the Turks and Caicos part of the trip, so I spent the entire time at Walt Disney World which is not a bad consolatio prize.
I spent my actual birthday at the Magic Kingdom, and as we were still dealing with the pandemic, the crowds were quite light and I had a remarkable day. I rode all the rides, and took tons of photos.
Later in the evening, I was walking from Main Street USA to Tomorrowland, and as I started walking through the Tomorrowland Terrace, I quickly noticed that the dining area was open and being used as a relaxation station. This dining room has a fantastic view of Cinderella's Castle, but is always blocked off and reserved for the dessert fireworks viewing parties.
Seeing that it was open, I took advantage and went inside, where I captured the photo of Cinderella's Castle that you see above.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed taking it!
