Pixie Dust Coming, I'm going to Disney World!

On Saturday, September 29th, I will be making a quick weekend trip to Walt Disney World! This is a trip that was planned for my two brothers and I to go enjoy a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It is now one of my brothers and his wife joining me on this trip. As often as I get to Disney World during their Christmas celebration, I have not been to a MNSSHP since 2011. Needless to say, my photography skills have grown a LOT since then.

As I am now in the final week before I leave for this trip, my plans have been completely revamped. Well, except for the actual MNSSHP, that is still happening on Sunday evening. Until recently, I had thought I would be arriving a the Orland Airport before noon on Saturday. I just noticed on my flight itinerary that I don't arrive until 4 pm. So I will miss a few hours of magic, but that isn't too much of a change. I also noticed that there was a later flight out of Orlando on Monday, so I changed my 1 PM flight to a 4 PM flight back home, so I'll make up those extra hours before heading back home.

I have also changed my plans for once I get to Disney World. We are staying at Bay Lake Tower, so I was just planning on keeping it simple and walking over to the Magic Kingdom for both days of my trip. But now I am planning on spending Saturday evening at Hollywood Studios. It will give me the opportunity to get some night time photos of the new Toy Story Land, which I am very excited to see! I will also be able to see the Star Wars Fireworks at Hollywood Studios for the very first time. By doing that, I will also have time to walk over to Epcot and enjoy their Illuminations: Reflections of Earth fireworks.

For Sunday, I just noticed that Hollywood Studios has Extra Magic Hours in the morning. So I'll wake up way too early in the morning, catch the first bus over to Hollywood Studios, and then hopefully get in a ride on the Slinky Dog Roller Coaster before the line gets too crazy. Of course, I'll also try to get a ride on Rock n Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror during the EMH. And by that time, I should be able to make another walk over to Epcot and enjoy some of the food from their International Food and Wine Festival for lunch. I might try to sneak in a quick nap in the afternoon before heading to the Magic Kingdom at 4 PM for the start of the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I am very much looking forward to this party. The three of us have a very simple themed set of "costumes" to wear. You'll have to follow me on Instagram to see my posts and I'd love to see how many of you can figure out our costumes. We'll hit a few rides with the Fast Passes we have, and then I plan on watching both parades and the fireworks, and of course taking photos the entire time. As well as I do photographing the fireworks at Disney, I am absolutely horrible at photographing their nighttime parades. I really hope I have learned my lessons and can get some usable shots on this trip. After the last parade, I'll spend the rest of the evening taking photographs, getting candy from all the trick-or-treat spots, and loving the atmosphere of the Magic Kingdom during a Halloween party.

And since I moved my flight home back a few hours, I'll now have time to enjoy a little more time in one of the parks. Animal Kingdom has Extra Magic Hours on Monday morning, so I plan on taking advantage of that as well. I should be able to get a ride of Flight of Passage without too much of a line, and then I can just bum around Animal Kingdom until I have to head back to Bay Lake Tower to catch my Tragical Express bus to the Airport. After it is all said and done, I will have spent a total of 48 hours in Florida and will have enjoyed all four parks. And then I just have to wait for two months before I head back down again as I take full advantage of my first ever Annual Pass to Walt Disney World.

Once I am back home, I hope to have many new photos of all the Halloween decor and the new Toy Story Land to share with you. The photos I used in this blog are all from my trip in 2011. As I mentioned above, make sure to follow me on Instagram as I will be sharing Stories and posts as much as possible. You can also follow me on Facebook. I won't be on there as often as I am on IG during this trip, but will still be able to see some of my posts from this trip on there.

Have you been to a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party before? If so, I'd love to hear any stories you may have from it. Leave me a comment below about it!
