There are many, MANY changes going on at EPCOT Center at Walt Disney World. Most of these changes are actually way past due. One of these changes is the end of their nighttime event 'Illuminations: Reflections of Earth'. This show has had a very long run, with it starting on October 1st, 1999, and will end exactly 20-years later on September 30th, 2019. I do believe it is time for something new, but I will admit I'll miss this show.
With the end coming up in a handful of days, I wanted to take a look back at some of the photographs that I have taken over the years. Many of the images in this blog are being shared for the first time ever, even though they may be 7 or 8 years old.
I want to start off showing the opening sequence. I always start my first exposure when the announcer blows out the torches, and end it 35-seconds later when the fireballs shoot out from the center of World Showcase Lagoon. I love that lone arching shot that explodes above the lagoon that is immediately followed by the fireworks exploding right on the water. I take this shot every single time I am there so I have seen it from many different locations. With that, here are seven of these opening sequence photos. You can click on each one to get a better look at it.
Now that the opening sequence photos are out of the way, here are many of my favorite photos of EPCOT's Illuminations. As with before, you can click on each one to get a better look at it.
