Have you ever felt the frustration of having your creative vision challenged? As a photographer, I constantly strive to capture the essence of Minneapolis, and the Stone Arch Bridge is an iconic landmark that features in many such visions. For my latest piece, "Arch of Stone," I had a very specific image in mind: the classic Minneapolis postcard shot, featuring the bridge reflected majestically in the Mississippi River, with the city skyline as a stunning backdrop. 

The Story of the Shot: 

Well, as every photographer knows, things rarely go exactly according to plan. In this case, all my usual access points to the river were closed due to safety concerns (a wise decision, of course!). Discouraged but determined, I attempted alternative routes, only to be met with overgrown paths and unexpected dead ends. Dejected, I was about to call it a night when something truly magical stopped me in my tracks. 

The Unexpected Gem: 

There, bathed in the warm glow of the city lights, stood the Stone Arch Bridge in all its glory. The still waters of the Mississippi perfectly reflected its elegant form, creating a breathtaking panorama I hadn't even considered before. It was a moment of pure serendipity, a chance encounter that revealed a hidden gem right in the heart of the city.
