Twice a night, on select evenings each fall, Main Street, U.S.A. transforms for Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, and the Haunted Mansion float is the heart of it. Here, the three Hitchhiking Ghosts of the Haunted Mansion (Phineas, Ezra, and Gus) come to life, glowing an eerie blue against the night as they ham it up for the crowd, the "Haunted Mansion" sign, and that grinning bat looming behind them. A full moon hangs over the rooftops, the street is lined with delighted guests, and the whole scene crackles with that one-of-a-kind Halloween-at-the-Magic-Kingdom energy.

The Boo-To-You parade is my favorite parade, full stop. Part of what makes it special is that you can't just walk in and see it; it only runs during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, a separately ticketed event on select nights, so plenty of Disney fans have never witnessed it at all. I don't make it to the party every year myself, which means sometimes years pass between visits with these three. Watching the antics they get up to as the float rolls by never gets old; they're playful, mischievous, and clearly having the time of their afterlives.
