This was my first time seeing Enchantment, the fireworks show built specifically for Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary, and my first time seeing the new golden character statues that arrived in the park alongside it. I got to this spot early, earlier than I probably needed to, because I had one shot in mind: lining up the new Golden Mickey statue so it stood directly in front of Cinderella Castle's spire, welcoming pose and all, while still staying clear of the steady stream of guests taking their own photos with him before the show began.
Enchantment only ran for a couple of years before Disney moved back to Happily Ever After, and the castle's 50th anniversary decorations came down not long after. The golden statues are still on display throughout the parks today, though the "50" emblems have since been removed, which makes this image a record of a specific, no-longer-repeatable combination: this statue, that castle look, and this particular fireworks show, all in one frame.
