There's a ritual at Walt Disney World called rope-drop, the early-morning rush when the park first opens, and everyone hurries to their favorite attraction before the lines grow. On this particular morning, I rope-dropped a photo instead of a ride.

A couple of days earlier, I'd passed this spot in the evening light and pictured how it might look at sunrise, the tower catching the first sun, the water clean and still, the crowds not yet arrived. So I got to the park early, headed straight back the moment they let us in, and captured Rapunzel's Tower in the calm gold of morning.

Perched high on a rocky outcrop above a tumbling waterfall, the storybook tower stands wrapped in climbing vines and framed by lush Fantasyland greenery, all beneath a soft blue Florida sky. It's one of the most enchanting (and most peaceful) corners of the Magic Kingdom, a fairy tale rendered in stone, water, and morning light.
