The lighthouse at the end of the pier at Disney's Yacht Club Resort is one of the quiet landmarks of the EPCOT resort area, a warm, lit beacon on the shore of Crescent Lake that most guests walk right past on their way to the parks. I went out specifically to line it up with the finale of EPCOT's Luminous nighttime spectacular, so the bursts would rise and bloom directly behind it.
Timing is everything with a frame like this. The lighthouse had to stay sharp and glowing while the sky filled with color, and the long exposure caught a resort water taxi gliding past in a ribbon of light along the bottom edge, a small, unrepeatable accident that ties the whole scene together.
