Bond Falls is a spectacular waterfall located in Upper Michigan. My parents are from Upper Michigan, so I grew up spending a lot of time in that beautiful part of the world. I don't recall many trips to these falls as a kid, but about 15-years ago it became a must-see on every trip I've made since then. 

While we used to head from Minneapolis to Upper Michigan multiple times a year, as we got older it became more of a summer trip. So I would always see Bond Falls in the summertime. It is such a beautiful place to see and photograph and experience, as I started taking my photography a bit more seriously, I started thinking about making a fall trip up there to see the falls nestled in their colorful fall wardrobe. 

I finally had the chance to make that trip in the fall of 2016. It's a 5-hour drive one way, so, heading up this way makes for a 10-hour day of driving there and back. That's a lot of driving. Maybe in the next year or two, I'll make a weekend of it and spend a bit more time there. 

The falls themselves remain beautiful as always in the autumn with all the trees in their orange, yellow, and red leaves. It's a trip I would recommend to anyone. I took many photos from many different locations around these falls. This one here is one of my favorites from that day.
