The Dallas skyline glowing in purple and gold on a quiet winter night—an unexpected moment of color, memory, and meaning captured in a single frame.
Some nights stay with you.
This photograph was captured in early 2020, on my first night in Dallas. As the city lit up after dark, the skyline unexpectedly shifted into purple and gold, a tribute to Kobe Bryant, who had passed just days earlier. I didn’t set out to photograph a memorial, but the moment found me anyway.
Purple has always been a color I’m drawn to. Seeing it woven through the Dallas skyline, paired with gold, felt both personal and universal, an intersection of city, memory, and light. The colors echo far beyond Dallas: from the legacy of the Lakers to the Minnesota Vikings, and even further back to the Minneapolis Lakers, where that iconic palette first began.
This image isn’t just about buildings. It’s about how cities speak when you’re paying attention.
Printed as part of my Everyday Art collection, this piece is designed to live easily in your space; bold enough to draw you in, calm enough to stay with you. Whether you connect to the colors, the city, or the moment in time, this print carries a quiet story that reveals itself over time.

Each image is infused directly into aluminum through a dye-sublimation process, creating luminous color and depth.
